I was hardcore not ready to put up with crap, and my mom was all out of Midol.  I had to make it two and a half hours to my first break in order to buy some, and I came close to punching coworkers.

Here’s a conversation I had that is nearly hilarious:

Elderly female coworker: Did you hear that President Obama declined a pipeline that would go into Canada and get oil?
Me: No.
EFC: Well, he did.  He said it was because of the environment, but we already use a lot of oil, and the pipeline would help us rely on other countries less.
Me: Canada is already our biggest supplier of petroleum.
EFC: (not listening) We could get out of the Middle East.  Can you believe him?  Gas would be cheaper.  We wouldn’t have to rely on other countries for oil.

By this time I’m trying to ignore her.  Apparently she thinks Canada is a part of the United States?  And I wanted to just tell her she was from another time period and she obviously doesn’t understand that the world can’t run on petroleum forever.  It’s her generation that thinks that these things are great ideas, and they are for them.  It’s my (our?) generation that has to take care of the consequences.

And Canada isn’t another country.
